Hello to All of my constituents!!! I would like to take the time to thank all of you for your support during my first year in office as the South district representative. It's been a pleasure to serve each of you and I have enjoyed meeting with you individually, as well as meeting with you in group settings. There have been many issues and of course this was a tough budget year. With the weak economy, many cities including Newport News, had to tighten their budget belts and find innovative ways to save money.
I wanted to create this blog to keep each of you abreast of the things I'm working on, the things I'm passionate about, and I want all of you to get involved!!! We have to help our new President Barack Obama be the best that he can be and to do that, he needs our help. I need you all to volunteer in some way, even if it is only a few hours each month, to help make your communities better. In the South district, we have a terrible problem with our streets being full of litter. You can help by getting a group of people together and being committed to cleaning an area of the city each week to beautify our area. We have to let people know we care about our neighborhood and keeping it clean certainly lets people know we care.
